The sign says never go beyond this limit.
If it said don’t, it would be reasonable. Never is absolute. It takes away any notion of reason.
Stepping over the line just because a warning sign is worded like an order is not a sign that a person has reached the age of reason. Regardless, it is the reason I make a point of taking a step beyond the limit every time I take the train to town.
