Building signHe stands outside smoking a cigarette. He knows he has heard the birdsong before. Today he notices it.

The sounds come from all around. Tweets, chirps and an occasional squawk. He starts to isolate them.

The crow is off to the left. The tree on the right is broadcasting a symphony. A small bird with something in its beak is responding to call coming from behind him.

He turns around. There is only the entrance to the building.

?

The building’s letter calls out again.  “I’m hungry!” The mother tells them to wait. They complain again and he sees the sign has moss hanging out its bottom.

He describes the mother to Google and it tells him that she is a Eurasian blue tit.
